Disabling Facebook Videos from Playing Automatically

To disable auto-playing videos in the Android Facebook app:

1 – Tap the Menu icon (it looks like three horizontal lines stacked atop once another). 2 – Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy. 3 – Tap Settings. 4 – Tap Media and Contacts. 5 – Toggle the “Video in News Feed Start With Sound” setting to Off. 6 – Scroll down and tap Autoplay. 7 – Select Never Autoplay videos.

To disable auto-playing videos in the iOS Facebook app:

1 – Tap the Menu icon (it looks like three horizontal lines stacked atop once another). 2 – Scroll down and tap Settings. 3 – Tap Videos>Autoplay. 4 – Select one of the available options for preventing auto-play.
